Multi-Emmy-winning Art Director and 3D Artist Mitch Myers releases HoonieRender V2, a short cinematic study in precision, nostalgia, and machine worship.
The piece reimagines the Nissan 380SX, a digital reincarnation of grassroots car culture, rendered through the lens of luxury-grade minimalism and cinematic reverence.
Veiled beneath soft cloth and chiaroscuro light, the 380SX emerges like a sacred object. The edit transitions from sterile isolation to visceral movement, carbon fiber breathing under studio lights before giving way to night, smoke, and velocity. It’s not a reveal video; it’s an invocation of mechanical soul.
“I wanted to treat the car like a relic, something sacred but dangerous,” says Myers. “HoonieRender V2 isn’t about horsepower or drift; it’s about ritual, what happens when devotion meets design.”
The visual evolution from V1 to V2 amplifies both realism and restraint. Using advanced CGI workflows and cinematic lighting studies, Myers crafts an atmosphere more evocative of high fashion photography than typical automotive rendering.
The result sits at the intersection of industrial fetishism, fine art, and digital cinematography, a visual thesis on form, obsession, and machine intimacy.
HoonieRender V2 marks the continuation of Myers’ exploration into digital craftsmanship, part of a broader body of personal work bridging design, automotive culture, and cinematic art direction.
